Hi everyone! Certainly, routine has not allowed me to finish this post properly, days go by very fast and a few minutes here and there to finally share with you a recent afternoon date to a bakery & coffee shop in this city. I’ve wanting to go there for a long time and was finally taken by my boyfriend for a lunch + dessert treat.
I dream almost every day and night about having another delicious plate there. To be honest with you, I’m not a big fan of sweets, my palate gets tired very easily to the point I have to drink a lot of water because it’s an uncomfortable feeling. Oh well!
Anyways… this place is located on the Naco area in Santo Domingo and is the perfect spot for an afternoon dessert, coffee break or casual meeting. It has both indoor and outdoor ambient. It was too hot, so we decided to go inside. A very pretty red door greets us in the entrance.
This place has a homey feeling with a rustic inspired decoration. You will feel like you’re in your own house.
I loved those shelves with vintage objects and of course, hazelnut cream. They have some ready-to-go orders in case you don’t want to stay in.
This place offers a variety of freshly made smoothies and also coffee prepared with hazelnut cream. I had a green apple-based smoothie. It was so refreshing!
For lunch, my boyfriend ordered a crispy chicken sandwich (ciabatta bread, steak, cheddar cheese, tomato and honey mustard sauce). It was delicious.
For a small eater like me, I had a aubergine dip (Parmesan and bacon based) along with pita chips. It was served warm and that added extra deliciousness.
Since its specialty is desserts, we ordered a Caramel Lovers Cast Iron with Nutella. Is a cookie baked in a cast iron with caramel and a vanilla ice cream ball. Celestial, yummy, delicious. I want another one!
Overall, we had a great experience, my only recommendation is to watch out whether you eat a lot or a little, because its proportions are fairly small. I highly recommend it just for desserts or snacking, especially if you are within a budget (2 signature drinks + 1 appetizer + 1 main course + 1 small dessert when around 2,000 – 2,500 DOP).
And… to finish off, a little bit of my look (I dress cheap).
Thanks for reading until this point, see you next time!
